What is a seal in search?

Symantec by Verisign, better known as the creator of Norton, offers a “Seal-in-search” functionality with their SSL certificates. When a customer is browsing for a product, having an extra boost or sign that your website is secure in the search engine results can make all of the difference. Verisign notes in their case studies that customers that use the seal-in-search experience an average of 24% increase in transactions (ranging from 10% to 36%) when the image was displayed.

This logo is displayed on the over 80 million desktops that use AVG, as well as other websites such as www.thefind.com that display this seal-in-search to ALL visitors, even if they do not have the free AVG anti-virus installed.
